The day started out fine.
I slept very poorly the night before, so for the first time in Gaming I found myself filling my travel mug with… well, coffee, plus chocolate espresso. There was no way I was going to let myself sleep through my first classes in Gaming.
Later I discovered that, apparently, the machine does NOT automatically add coffee when you press the chocolate espresso button… you have to press the coffee button first. So I drank two full travel mugs of plain espresso and chocolate. O_o
I only have two classes where the professors are actually in Gaming. I went to Metaphysics first. So far, Metaphysics is fun and interesting… in an annoying kind of way. Just like all of the other philosophy courses I have taken. Besides the looming 7 to 10 page paper, I think the class will be nice.
The coffee mug was in my backpack pocket. I ran back to my room to grab some things for my other class, Christian Moral Principles. I plopped my bookbag on the bed. My mug decided to plop onto my sheets, making a minor spill. It was quite frustrating.
Frustrations aside, Christian Moral Principles was good, and the teacher is pretty stylish. I couldn’t help worrying about the sheets, though. I figured I’d probably have to buy bleach.
So, after class, I got all bundled up, and got stressed several times (I think I forgot to put on my boots instead of my tennis shoes, and other related issues, probably involving Euros and tips on how to order the right thing…)
In the end, I was all set and ready to go… to be informed that there was bleach in the laundry room.
At this point, I was so flustered, I said to myself, I’m going to go down to Spar and get a cake! And that’s what I did.
This is a pretty good cake. It has tasty layers of cake and filling, and has a taste that makes me think of Butter Rum Lifesavers. :-)
Note: I recently learned, through online research, that Tiramisu is actually an Italian cake thing. Bummer. I’ll have to look for something more German…
Second note: Yeah… you think the Italian flag and the Italian guy would have clued me in. O_o
The purchase of the cake gave me an opportunity to show you some awesome Euros!
Yeah, that one cent Euro is pretty small. Even smaller than a penny!
Some other pictures I took:
Ah, that’s right! Lunch is on the left. (Note the yellow things- those are potatoes, not squash.) Dinner is on the right! They served us American-ish food. It was pretty good!
Butter Rum cake! Sounds yummy! I bet the espresso (which is such strong coffee as it is) and chocolate did the trick.
ReplyDeleteHow did the sheets turn out? :)
Love,
Mom
Sheets were... ennh. It turned out to be fake-ish bleach for countertops... so it mostly came out, but there were still some marks. But they didn't say anything at the sheet exchange, so I guess it's fine...
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy taking my lunch break and reading your adventures! Love you, Aunt Cheryl
